PURPOSES OF THE PROCESSING

In application of EU Regulation 2016/679 (Regulation hereinafter) and Legislative Decree 30 June 2003, n. 196, as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018, this information describes the methods of processing the personal data of users who consult the web pages and use any services at the addresses:

It is aimed at those who interact with the sites listed above and not with others, possibly reached through links present there, but referring to external resources.

Some pages may request personal data: we inform you that failure to provide them may make it impossible to achieve the purposes to which the processing is connected.

Pursuant to art. 13 of EU Regulation 2016/679, we inform you that the processing of personal data carried out through https://elixir-italy.org/ relates exclusively to personal data acquired in relation to the achievement of the institutional purposes of the Project, or in any case connected to the exercise of the tasks of public interest and the exercise of public powers to which he is called, including the purposes of scientific research and analysis for statistical, teaching and administrative purposes, pursuant to art. 6, paragraph 1, lett. e) and, in particular, in order to provide and improve the web services offered.

These personal data are processed in a lawful, correct, relevant way, limited to what is necessary to achieve the purposes of the processing, only for the time necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected and in any case in compliance with the principles indicated in art. 5 of EU Regulation 2016/679.

Pursuant to Reg. 2016/679, the Data Controller is the CNR – National Research Council with registered office in Rome, Piazzale Aldo Moro 7, 00185 Rome, Italy.

Pursuant to Reg. 2016/679, the person in charge of the processing of personal data carried out through www.cnr.it is the Cnr Press Office, which can be contacted at the following email address: director.ufficiostampa@cnr.it.

In application of art. 37 and ss. of the aforementioned Regulation relating to the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of data, the CNR with provision 103/2020 of 15/10/2020 designated the Data Protection Officer (RPD or DPO), email: rpd@cnr.it.

Rights of interested parties

Interested parties have the right to ask the data controller for access to personal data and the correction or cancellation of the same or the limitation of the processing that concerns them or to oppose the processing in accordance with the provisions of art. 15 and ss. of EU Regulation 2016/679.

The interested party has the right to submit their request to the Data Controller. Applications must be addressed to: director.ufficiostampa@cnr.it.

The interested parties, if the conditions are met, are also granted the right to lodge a complaint with the Guarantor as supervisory authority.

Cookies consist of portions of code installed in the browser that assist the Owner in providing the service according to the purposes described. Some of the purposes for installing cookies may also require the consent of the user.

This Site uses technical Cookies to save the User’s session and to carry out other activities that are strictly necessary for the functioning of the same. The prior consent of users is not required for their installation.

Through the browser preferences it is also possible to delete the Cookies installed in the past, including the Cookie in which the consent to the installation of Cookies by this site is eventually saved. However, by completely disabling cookies in your browser it may not be possible to use all our interactive features.

Some of the services listed below collect statistics in aggregate form and may not require the User’s consent or may be managed directly by the Owner – depending on how they are described – without the help of third parties.

Profiling cookies

The system makes use, within some pages, of features (widgets) and / or third-party profiling cookies. The aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of institutional communication activities and provide visibility to institutional activities and / or content on issues of public and social interest.

In particular, recourse is made to:

  • javascript code that records and sends information about users who have viewed a specific page to LinkedIn, Google, Twitter
  • services that allow interaction with social networks or other external platforms

Access to the site after authenticating with your account on the above platforms, could allow their managers to acquire some of the user’s personal information. The management of the information collected is described in the relevant information, to which please refer.

Deletion of cookies already stored

The revocation of the authorization to use cookies does not result in the cancellation of those that may already be present on the user’s browser. For their elimination it is necessary to select the specific option present in the privacy settings of the browser (usually indicated as: “Clear browsing data”).

Processing methods

The processing of personal data is carried out using electronic procedures and supports only for the time necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected. Specific security measures are observed to prevent data loss, illicit or incorrect use and unauthorized access.

Transfer of personal data

The collected data may be transferred to member states of the European Union, but will not be transferred to third countries outside the European Union.

Special categories of personal data

ELIXIR Italia does not require the interested party to provide so-called data “Particular”, or, according to the provisions of the GDPR, personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, as well as genetic data, biometric data intended to identify in uniquely a natural person, data relating to the health or sexual life or sexual orientation of the person. In the event that the service requested from ELIXIR Italia requires the processing of such data, the interested party will receive specific information in advance and will be required to give appropriate consent, except in the cases referred to in art. 9 of the GDPR. 

Data retention period

The navigation data, necessary for access to the web page, are used to obtain anonymous statistical information on the use of the site and to check its correct functioning. The same could be used to ascertain responsibility in the event of computer crimes or acts of damage to the site. Except for this eventuality, they are not stored beyond the time necessary to carry out the checks to ensure the security of the system, equal to a maximum of 10 days.
