ENEA is an Italian Government Agency operating on research, innovation technologies and advanced services in the fields of energy and sustainable economic development. It currently employs around 2,600 people located in 11 research centres throughout Italy. ENEA is concerned with energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, sustainability and nuclear energy.

It hosts experimental laboratories and facilities, and also dedicates its technological innovation skills to cultural heritage conservation, agro-food, health, and environment.
